For this edition of At C Level, the Long Island Business News Web team visited the groundbreaking of Stony Brook University's Advanced Energy Research Technology Center, a facility that hopes to promote and develop various alternative energy projects.
First, David Reich-Hale sat down with Yacov Shamash, vice chairman of the center. Shamash explained how the AERTC will work in collaboration with the university's Southampton campus as well as with our region's famed Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Next, Reich-Hale grabbed Bob Catell, chairman of National Grid's North American operations and co-chair of the AERTC, to talk about how the center hopes to create jobs, and industry even, on Long Island. Catell also spoke about the merger between National Grid and KeySpan and what it means for Long Island to have its energy in the hands of a major global company.
